We all know how a good pair of false lashes can completely transform your look and be an instant eye opener, but what stops most of us from adding on a pair of falsies? It’s simply not knowing how, and it’s okay!
I’m breaking down the lash app process while sharing some of my best tips in hopes you you can confidently wear a pair of falsies whatever your next occasion may be!
What You Need
- Pair of false lashes
- Lash glue
- Lash applicators or tweezers
- Liquid or pencil eyeliner (optional)
Step One: Do Your Makeup and Mascara First
Do all your makeup including, liner and mascara first and always let lashes be the last thing you apply. I like saving this step for last to avoid eyeshadow fallout on my lashes because I try to keep them looking as fresh as possible. Adding liner to the top of your lash line prior to your lash app will make it easier to blend your lashes to your lash line!
Step Two: Measure + Trim Your Lashes
Ensuring your lashes feel comfortable is key. In order to do this, it’s a must to ensure your lash band fit your eyes. Lash band too lengthy? Simply trim the outer corner of the lashes. Tip: What you do to one eye lash, try to do to the other to get the most precise measurement when trimming the lash band. Never trim from the inner corner of the eye as it will weaken the lash band!
Step Three: Glue Onto Lash Band
There are different types of lash glues on the market. I personally love a good latex free glue because it dries invisible and it’s perfect for sensitive eyes! Apply an even layer along the lash band to ensure your lashes will adhere and stay on your eyelids.
Step Four: Let the Glue Dry
After applying the glue onto your lash band, you MUST give the glue time to dry! Wait 20-30 seconds to allow the glue to get tacky before applying your falsies onto your lash line. It’ll adhere way better
Step Five: Apply Your Lashes
A tip I learned worked best was applying lashes while my eyes were open but holding a mirror below me where I could see the lash line. Seeing where I’m placing my lashes is key. Then place your lash in the centre, then seal the deals on the end to ensure the full band is sticking into place.
