Can you believe it? After the long, dark and dreaded cold winter days we’ve finally entered spring!
I may be a winter baby but it’s not my favourite season. Now, I know I’ve missed February’s recap so I’ll take it back by filling you in with my life since then.
February is often known as the month of all that lovey dovey romantic stuff and truth be told, I love all that sappy shit! Justin and I kept it pretty low key this year but luckily we both had the day off, so I brought out the inner Pinterest in me and made him the ultimate v-day brunch. I must say I was pretty satisfied with the final results and it’s definitely motivated me to get more creative in the kitchen.
In January, I wanted to create more balance in my life but one thing I’ve taken the time to realize is that it all starts with baby steps. I’ve started utilizing resources such as my iCalendar, personal agenda and notebook to organize my weeks. Since then, I fell a lot more put together.
I’m not sure if it’s just me but getting out of that sluggish, bad foods routine from the holidays left me feeling super GROSS. So here, I tried committing to making the gym a major priority and discovered my new found love, Grunt. It’s challenging but I’m digging it.
Last month, I went to quite a few press events. I learned about Aveda’s amazing initiative, (which you can read more about here,) and I got a sneak peak at some of this season’s hottest beauty launches. Events are always exciting and getting to learn about the latest products make me feel so lucky, but I definitely took the time to redefine what I wanted to share with you all on the blog and going forward. You’ll have to wait until May to see some of the upcoming changes but I promise they’re worth the wait, so stay tuned 😉!
As many of you know, I’m a freelance beauty writer and once upon a time, I was a journalism student. Since j-school, I have contributed to quite a few publications. I’m really excited because once again I got to work with one of my favourite online publications, Flare! In this piece I chat about the do’s and don’ts of liquid eyeshadow. I’d love to hear what you think so feel free to check it out and share the feedback 🙂
Aside from my life as a blogger and my career endeavours, I took my mom out to watch the highly anticipated live Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. In a few words I will tell you that I was beyond impressed and felt like the 2017 version fulfilled my every expectation. I do feel like I need to see it once more before it leaves theatres because I seriously can’t stop raving about it enough. PS. How beautiful was the John Legend and Arianna Grande remake of the classic song?
Now that the brighter days are upon us I’m motivated to start my days earlier. My weakness in life is not being a morning person. I’ll skip around things I should do (like breakfast) just to rush out the door and that’s never a great start to your day. For April I’m committing to a solid 8 hours of sleep a night, followed by a morning and bedtime routine.
Do you guys have suggestions or tips to creating a morning/bedtime routine? If so share it with me!
